The Legendary Rick Rubin is Back...

I've been procrastinating to write an article on "who I think" is one of the most intriguing producers of all time, Rick Rubin. Rick Rubin is his own competition and has been around since the early 80's. Since his collaboration with Jay Z on the Magna Carta... Holy Grail Album I have been intrigued with his unique appearance ever since.  What is it about this man that makes him so intriguing to work with and why must everyone claim to his fame? 

Is it his bum like appearance and down to earth attitude that makes this man so unique? I would have to say it's more than that.  Rick Rubin founded Def Jam in the early 80's and is known as a Mega Producer in the music industry. He has recently went viral in 2013 from working with artist such as Jay Z, Kanye West, Eminem, Lady Gaga, and the list goes on.  I believe his return is to re-claim his throne and to once again revolutionize the music industry as we know it.

Mictag - Pass the Mic is a audio recording studio app re-imagined for the iPhone and Android that will allow users to add melody while delivering messages.

This is our story... Pass the Mic, Tag you are it!

An instrumental artist, such as a guitarist can record a riff and pass the mic to their drummer to add a beat.  An instrumental loop is created (by the moderator aka producer) and a vocal artist can overlay their story or message simply by passing the mic to the circle, group or band.  Once recording is finalized, share on a social media site or phone.

Freestyle and Battle. Pre-made loops and or record and add you own.

Come join us and our social community.  Grow with us as our app continues to develop and WE WILL together dominate the world. With your help, we would like to carry on our mission by becoming your outlet for audio expression worldwide.  We are set out to Create an Online Audio Playing field for Musicians and Artist, Mainstream or Underground alike, there is no LABEL. With this app we are giving everyone an opportunity to play on a level playing field where everyone can pass the mic. Eminem - A Rap God?

Eminem... Self Proclaimed Rap God?Anyone choose to disagree?

Here at Mictag - Pass the Mic we are big fans of Eminem's Raw and Uncut vibe, but a Rap God? We would love to hear what you think...  Comment and share, love or hate? It's a debate...

"Rap God" is a song by American hip hop recording artist Eminem. The song premiered via YouTube, on October 14, 2013 and was released in the US on October 15, 2013 as the third single from Eminem's upcoming eighth studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 (2013). It contains references to previous conflicts in Eminem's career, as well as to other rappers' conduct.

The song references a line from the first Marshall Mathers LP, on the song "I'm Back", where he talks about the Columbine High School massacre, rapping "Seven kids from Columbine; Put 'em all in a line, add an AK-47, a revolver, a nine." The verse was censored when originally released, and is included in "Rap God" to test public reaction.[1] Eminem references the Lewinsky scandal in order to demonstrate his longevity as a dominant force in the rap industry, thus establishing himself as an "immortal god".[2] Read more here.

A TRIBUTE TO THE ORIGINAL B-BOYS...

Mictag - Pass the Mic would like to give tribute to the original B-Boys - Mike D, Ad Rock, and MCA.  These boys are an inspiration to the pass the mic era. The Beastie Boys are best known for their originality and have been breaking it down with original tracks for years giving inspiration to all.

I would also like to give my condolences to MCA and my heart goes out to family, friends and fans.  You will truly be missed by all and your legacy will forever live on through your music and in our hearts! RIP Beastie...

In recent news Michael Diamond (Mike D) and Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock) of the Beastie Boys will tell the story of their hip-hop group in a yet-to-be-titled "multidimensional" book due out in 2015 from Random House's imprint Spiegel & Grau (the publisher of Jay-Z's Decoded).

This may sound impracticable and only happen in the movies and on TV shows like Glee, but I think as we evolve socially we will continue to seek alternative ways to communicate and express ourselves.

Mictag, The Original Record and Pass the Mic iPhone App has been bitten, OUCH!

For the record, Mictag - Pass the Mic is and will always be the original "Pass the Mic" App so quit what you heard and let me set the record straight.

We were surprised to hear when we got the news that first prize for a new start up went to RapChat, aka Pass the Mic App.

Here at Mictag we congratulate RapChat on their great success in getting recognition and financing for their project! The only thing RapChap forgot to do is research to only see that the concept has already been written.

My intention is not to bash RapChat nor to go after them for infringement but instead to get the proper credit we deserve for our original app concept that we created.  Mictag - Pass the Mic has been in its development phase for the past year and prepping to launch soon so expect us very soon.

Mictag - Pass the Mic Trademark was filed before Rapchat Tradmark on the concept of passing the mic to others to freestyle battle and share via social media and sound cloud sites.
